The publication rights of the articles in the Turkish Journal of Islamic Studies are regulated by the Declaration of Transfer of Financial Rights, which is to be signed by the authors following the Editorial Board’s decision to publish. Accordingly:
The author transfers and assigns to İSAM the rights of processing, reproduction, dissemination, renting, and public lending, as well as the rights of direct and indirect representation, communication to the public, providing public access, publication and republication/communication, editorial, promotion, merchandising, and format rights arising from their work of any kind.
Furthermore, the author acknowledges and undertakes that their work is an original study, that there are no rights belonging to third parties therein, and that in the event that third parties claim rights over the whole or any part of the article, any resulting compensation and other legal responsibilities shall belong to them.
The author acknowledges and undertakes that they will not post the version of the work published in the Turkish Journal of Islamic Studies on any personal, institutional, or other internet site, sharing platform, or any social media or messaging program within twenty-four (24) months from its publication. However, they may share the first two (2) pages of the PDF version of the published work on all digital and social media environments mentioned above following its publication by İSAM. The author may republish the work within a compilation book they have personally authored or edited after a twenty-four (24) month period without restriction, provided it complies with academic citation and ethical rules; however, they shall inform İSAM in advance regarding this matter. The republication of the work within a compilation work authored or edited by third parties is subject to the permission of İSAM.
Moral rights belong to the author. Additionally, the author has the right to obtain a link providing free access—to be provided by İSAM—to the registered version of the work on the Turkish Journal of Islamic Studies website, to use the work for education and teaching purposes, to archive it, and to request that an original copy of the journal in which the work is published be sent to them.
İSAM does not pay any royalties to the author in exchange for the work published in the journal, regardless of its type. However, in the event that the work is published by İSAM within another work such as a compilation book, the issue of copyrights may be reconsidered between İSAM and the author, and a new arrangement may be made.
